Learning Hub Webinars How BOM Portal supports R&D and Procurement with DFM & DFC analysis throughout the entire product lifecycle

How BOM Portal supports R&D and Procurement with DFM & DFC analysis throughout the entire product lifecycle

In today’s world, supply chain disruptions can impact not only your already designed products in manufacturing, but also influence product design decisions for your next-generation products and early prototypes.

Join us for a hands-on walkthrough of how R&D teams can benefit from shared BOM projects to mitigate supply chain risks, from the initial phase of product design throughout the entire product lifecycle. Learn how procurement teams are enabled with enriched component information in a collaborative BOM project to support R&D throughout the entire product lifecycle and share sourcing insights with management to mitigate risks.

What You'll Learn

  • BOM Project Creation:
Create BOM Projects of already designed legacy products based on Spreadsheet Information or create managed BOM projects based on new released prototype projects in your collaborative Workspace.

  • Supply Chain Intelligence:
Use available resources to enrich your projects with component lifecycle, compliance, pricing, and stock data, and resolve missing manufacturer part numbers — all in one interface.

  • Impact Analysis & Risk Mitigation:
Use automated issue detection to find obsolete parts, source confident alternates, and optimize your BOM for the fewest number of suppliers to simplify ordering and reduce cost.

  • Simplify Component Sourcing:
Define your favorite supplier and adjust part choices based on current availability to allow efficient prototype & production sourcing.

  • Production Planning:
Identify upcoming sourcing risk with YTEOL & factory lead time. Stay ahead of supply chain disruptions across your BOM projects or consolidated BOM projects to streamline your overall component decisions in your company.

  • Lifecycle Management:
Update your BOM projects over the complete product lifecycles and release your milestones from the first prototype stage to manufacturing and track changes along the way for all collaborators during product development.

Why Attend?

  • Discover how automated data enrichment eliminates hours of manual component research to identify obsolete components & direct replacements

  • Understand how R&D Engineers can benefit from collaborative BOM projects shared with their procurement team along their development

  • Learn how procurement teams are enabled to influence component decisions from prototypes to manufacturing and share their insights with management

  • Get an understanding about your company’s sourcing situation of your overall products

  • Ask questions directly to experts during the live Q&A session

Who Should Attend?

  • PCB Designers & Electronics Engineers looking to accelerate the path from design release to working prototype without manual BOM cleanup.

  • Procurement Specialists & Buyers seeking a streamlined, data-enriched BOM workflow that reduces supplier research and ordering overhead.

  • NPI & Prototype Engineers responsible for getting first articles built quickly and accurately.

  • Engineering Managers & Team Leads wanting to reduce the time and rework between design completion and prototype validation.

  • Any hardware team that has experienced delays, BOM errors, or supply chain disruptions going from prototype phase to production or beyond
