Too often, in the pursuit of healthy success and growth, it’s tempting for companies to talk about its products or services too much, and their customer’s success too little. While Altium may certainly fall into this all-too-common trap at times, we truly draw our greatest inspiration from innovative engineers like you, who are impacting the world everyday. For this reason, we have decided instead of telling our story, we are going to start telling yours. Altium Stories is a new mini-documentary series focused on the accomplishments and innovation of engineers just like you. In this interview, Masha Petrova, VP of Brand Marketing talks about the motivation behind this initiative and how you might have the opportunity to tell your own amazing story.

Judy Warner: Masha, Will you please explain what Altium Stories are, and what inspired Altium to produce this new series of videos?

Masha Petrova: Altium has recently launched an innovative new project - the Altium Stories  Youtube channel. Over the last few months, we have been actively filming mini-documentaries, Altium Stories. These 3-5 minute films tell our customers’ technology stories and showcase the amazing inventions that are created with the power of Altium software and electronics technology.

Altium truly has incredible customers who are developing technologies for the future. These short films showcase the future of technology, and the people who make this technology come to life. So these films are a glimpse into not just new technology, but really into what’s in store for humanity as a whole.

Warner: Tell us about some of the stories you have produced so far, and what technologies they feature.

Petrova: There are so many innovative and interesting customers that we have a privilege to work with for this project! Like Core (a meditation device startup out of a Silicon Valley accelerator - which we sponsor, thanks to your efforts, Judy), PianoArc - the creators of the circle piano for Lady Gaga, Jabil - a 7.5 billion dollar manufacturing services giant, Relativity Space - a company 3D printing an entire rocket engine, Sarcos Robotics - a company building an exoskeleton robotic suit (yes, IronMan style) and many others!! Several of the films are already up on our Altium Stories Youtube channel (youtube.com/altiumstories), and many more are in the works and will be published in the upcoming year.

Warner: How often will you be producing these videos, and where can our readers view them?

Petrova: Youtube.com/AltiumStories, we’re planning to produce at least two new stories a month.

Warner: What value do you think these videos hold for engineers and PCB designers?

Petrova: Besides showcasing valuable technologies that serve humanity, we hope these individuals and companies will inspire other engineers and give rise to more innovation and spark creativity.

Warner: I understand you are searching for more Altium Stories. If someone has an interesting story to tell, how can they reach you?

Petrova: Absolutely! If you’re an Altium user and are working on an interesting project, if you feel like your company’s story needs to be told, and more people should learn about what you and your company are working on - please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly: masha.petrova@altium.com. (You can also connect with Masha on LinkedIn here).

Warner: Thank you, Masha and good luck on continuing to capture these interesting and compelling Altium Stories!

Petrova: My pleasure, Judy.
